Telangana: Now, Chiranjeevi's party faces split

Actor-turned-politician Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) is likely to make a formal announcement in support of a united Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, but faces a split.
 
Chiranjeevi is at present holding consultations with his MLAs in Hyderabad. Sixteen PRP MLAs from the coastal and Rayalseema regions sent in their resignations last week and are putting pressure for supprt to a united Andhra.
 
On the other side, Telangana district leaders of PRP are up in arms and there are reports that those from Warangal and Karimnagar have already quit. 
 
The Osmania University joint action committee and Kakatiya University students have meanwhile declared that they will boycott not just Chiru's films, but those of his family members too if PRP talks of a united AP. 
 
Chiranjeevi had fought the Lok Sabha elections this year on a promise of statehood for Telangana.
