Tevez makes Man City debut in 2-1 win over Celtic

Sunday August 09, 09 : Carlos Tevez made his Manchester City debut on Saturday, but the goals were provided by Gareth Barry and Craig Bellamy as the Premier League club beat Celtic 2-1 in a friendly.

Tevez, who defected from crosstown rival Manchester United in the offseason, came on in the second half to partner fellow new signing Emmanuel Adebayor in attack.

Tevez, Adebayor and Barry were part of a 100 million-pound ($167-million) spending spree sanctioned by chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, who was in Manchester for the match.

Barry, the England midfielder who joined from Aston Villa, turned in Pablo Zabaleta's cross after 15 minutes.

Celtic equalized through Chris Killen, but the Scottish side's former striker Craig Bellamy produced City's winner in the 51st minute.

Bellamy came off in the 65th to make way for Tevez.
